Welcome to The Highbury Centre! We are delighted to have you here and hope you enjoy your stay. This online welcome booklet contains all the information you need to make the most of your time with us, from amenities to local attractions. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance during your stay.
During Your Stay

Breakfast
Breakfast is served daily in the dining room from:
7:30am - 9:00am Mon to Sat
8:00am - 9:30am Sunday
If you would like to have an earlier breakfast (not cooked breakfast) please speak to the reception team.

Welcome Tray
Upon arrival you will find tea & coffee facilities in your room which will be replenished on a daily basis. Should you require extra tea & coffee in the meantime, you can help yourself in the Reception Lounge.

Check-out/ in
Check-in is from 3pm, please check your email for details
Check out is from 10:00am. Please drop your key off at reception, if the reception is closed when you are checking out please drop your key off in the key deposit box.

Door Codes
To gain access to the house (front or garden door) you will need the code sent to you in your pre-check in email or when you checked in. If you need help accessing the house please call the warden - the number can be found on the front door.

Housekeeping
​We will make your bed, empty the bins, and replenish tea and coffee each day during your stay. Extra tea & coffee, is available in the Reception Lounge. Guests staying for one week will receive fresh towels mid-stay. Guests staying one week or longer will have their rooms cleaned with fresh linen and towels. Our housekeeper will leave a note in advance to let you know when this will take place.

Free Wi-Fi
There is free Wi-Fi throughout the house. You can find the password in your room.
Facilities

The Hub
The Hub is located on the lower ground floor where you will find a microwave, fridges, plates, and cutlery. Please label your food with your name and ensure their removal before your departure.

Lounges
Want a change of scenery to your room? Why not relax and unwind in our communal lounge spaces.

Conference Room
The Conference Room is exclusively for hire only. If you would like to book the Conference Room please speak to the reception team for availability and pricing. Further information can be found HERE!

The Garden
The garden is available for all of our guests to enjoy. However, we kindly ask that guests return to the house at 9:30pm out of respect for our neighbours. Children (under 16) must be accompanied at all times.

Parking
Parking is available on the road, however you will need a parking permit. Permits are available for a refundable £20 cash deposit per vehicle. Please inform Reception prior to arrival if you require a parking permit.

Laundry
The laundry is located on the lower ground floor and is available for guests to use from 3pm until 9pm. (The laundry will be locked at 9pm). Please pay at Reception before using the machines. The fee is £3 per wash and £2 per drying.

Printing
If you require documents to be printed please email a PDF to: enquiries@thehighburycentre.org and pay at the reception when you collect your printing.

Luggage Store
If you would like to store your luggage for a few hours or couple of days we have a store room available at no extra charge. Please speak to reception for details.

Safe
There is a safe available upon request. Any items stored in the safe remain the responsibilty of the guest. The Highbury Centre takes no responsibility if the item is lost or stolen.
The Local Area

Local Shops: Highbury Barn
A short walk from here is Highbury Barn where you will find a Post Office, general store, green grocers, bakery, cafes, pharmacy, laundrette, dry cleaners and newsagents. Turn left out of the front door, proceed to the end of the road, turn right, then walk straight up and you’ll come to Highbury Barn.

Local Shops: Highbury Corner
A10 minute walk is Highbury Corner where you will find a Tesco, Waitrose, and various independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Turn left out of the front door, proceed to the end of the road, cross the road and enter Highbury Fields, continue straight until you get to a crossing, turn left and you’ll come to Highbury Corner.

Banking
You will find all the High Street banks at Angel. Take bus number 19 and get off at Islington Green. All the banks are within walking distance from the bus stop.

Shopping
Bus 19 will take you to Piccadilly Circus, near Regent Street, and also close to Harrods (stops at Sloane Street). For Oxford Street, take the underground from Highbury & Islington to Oxford Circus, this is 4 stops southbound on the Victoria Line.

Health & Safety

No Smoking
The Highbury Centre, it’s house, garden, and grounds, is a NO SMOKING area - this includes cigarettes and vapes. If guests would like to smoke we ask you go onto the pavement area at the front of the building. A £50 fine will apply if anyone is found smoking inside the property.

Mobile Phone Charging
When charging your mobile phone: ALWAYS use the original recharger. DO NOT leave your phone on a bed or floor while charging. DO NOT leave your phone unattended while charging

Fire Evacuation
Please read the Fire Action notices in your room. Be aware of your nearest fire exit and should you hear the alarm make your way to the assembly point on the roadside opposite. The Fire Doors will automatically shut on the sounding of the alarm.

Under/Overground Stations
Highbury & Islington Under/ Overground Station is located at Highbury Corner, just across the road from Harvest N5. Please Note: there is no lift service at this station.

Bus Stop
Turn left out the front door, proceed to the end of the road and turn left, there you’ll find a southbound bus stop (Aberdeen Park). This is a request stop, so please indicate for the bus to stop. Bus 19 goes to Battersea Bridge, bus 4 to Blackfriars and bus 263 to Barnet Hospital.
Emergency!
In an emergency (outside office hours), please contact the duty warden by calling 07851 382544 or via the bell at the top of the stairs of house 22/24 by the Garden Room - you will find a plan of the house in your room.
